A Legacy Spanning Six Generations

At L2 Ranch, ranching isn’t just a profession—it’s a legacy spanning six generations. Our deep-rooted passion and love for the land, the animals, and the craft have been passed down through the family, infusing every aspect of our work with dedication and care. This heritage ensures that our commitment to quality and sustainable practices runs as deep as the roots of the ranch itself.

ESTABLISHED IN 1927

L2 Ranch is located in Oakley, UT at the base of the Uinta mountains. Oakley has a rich farming background dating back to the early 1900’s. It was then that the L2 brand was government-appointed to the first generation of our family’s cattle ranch. Nearly 100 years and six generations later, the backbone of the operation remains the same. The cows are wintered under the windbreak benches of Oakley near the Weber River and graze the national forest up Weber Canyon in the summer on the same grazing permit L2 cattle roamed in the beginning.

In 2020 we transitioned our original cow/calf operation to start selling direct-to-consumer. We had this great product we had been feeding our family since the beginning, and we wanted to start sharing it with our friends and local community. This became even more important to us when we witnessed the fragility of our food system firsthand back in 2020.

“I have always been drawn to the mountains, and when presented with the option to check on cattle or spend my summer days at the lumber mill or on a tractor, I always chose the mountains. I recognized early on that if I tended to the cattle, I got to be on a horse all day long to complete a job, living that cowboy lifestyle, and I really enjoy that. Now many years later, and with a young family myself , the same still applies—an appreciation for the opportunity to live the lifestyle passed down for multiple generations.”

Animals & Business

“My life has always revolved around animals and business. From starting my first venture at eight years old, renting out goats to eat weeds, to bringing home stray animals, my passion for animal care and entrepreneurship was evident early on. This led to many small startups and a lifelong dedication to animals. After trying various jobs, I realized that working for others wasn’t for me, so I started a window cleaning business that I ran for over ten years. My love for ranch life, inspired by my grandparents, fueled my dream of owning a ranch and selling beef directly to consumers. In 2019, my husband and I transitioned his family’s cattle ranch to a direct-to-consumer model, realizing my lifelong dream of raising and selling 100% grass-fed beef.”
